How to complain

If something on this site is wrong, or we have handled your data badly, tell us. If your complaint is about an insurer, broker or adviser, here is where it needs to go instead.

Typical UK insurance costs

Independent research — typical UK costs from ABI, Which? and MoneyHelper published data.

Complaints about this site

This covers anything we are responsible for: a page that is inaccurate or misleading, the way your personal data has been handled, or the way we have communicated with you. Use the contact page or write to editorial@myinsuranceexpert.co.uk. We aim to acknowledge within two working days and to give a full answer within ten.

Complaints about an insurer, broker or adviser

We do not sell, arrange or compare insurance, so we cannot handle a complaint about a policy, a claim, a premium or advice you were given. Complain to the firm first — every regulated firm must have a complaints process and must give you a final response within eight weeks. If you are unhappy with that response, or do not receive one in time, the Financial Ombudsman Service can consider it, free of charge. Because we are not a regulated firm, the Ombudsman cannot consider a complaint about this site.

Complaints about your data

Our privacy notice sets out what we hold and your rights. You can complain to us first, and to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

What happens to a complaint

Every complaint is read by a person and logged. Complaints about a page go to the editorial team and, where upheld, the page is corrected. We do not publish complaints or reply to them publicly.
